ABOUT US

We are Corinne and Colin, two geologists who have made our home in Switzerland's beautiful Berner Oberland.

After living for several years abroad doing PhDs and Postdocs, we moved back to Corinne's home country of Switzerland in 2023 and started to explore our new backyard.

The Hidden Switzerland Travel blog is our opportunity to share the adventure with you and we are so excited for you to join us!

We love to walk, run (ok, to be fair Corinne runs and Colin walks but semantics), hike, and paddle, so many of our trips involve a bit (sometimes a lot) of physical activity. That said, regardless of your age or fitness, there is something for everyone here in Switzerland and we try to give you a cross-section of it all.

Our posts tend to have a bit more detail than your average travel blog. We find that the history and stories of a place are really what makes it special, not just the pretty views (although those tend to abound).

Where possible, we try to avoid, or at least provide nearby alternatives to, the itineraries you can find plastered all over the internet. We like taking the road less traveled. We wish you the very best on your own adventures and can't wait to hear from you.

Corinne

Corinne grew up in Switzerland near the Rhine but she always wanted to live in the mountains. Now, after several years abroad, she does! Corinne is responsible for our copy editing, YouTube channel, and most of our wet-weather adventures. There is a race training plan to keep after all!

Colin

Colin grew up in sunny Southern California and moved to Switzerland in 2023 after several years abroad. He has a child-like enthusiasm for layer cakes of history (and actual cake) that has earned him significant ridicule from his friends and family. Colin is responsible for most of our blog posts.
